MSU Leading Fraternity
Independently led chapter's brand refresh and alumni communications outreach.
Communcite • Collaborate • Celebrate
PROJECT OVERVIEW
A premiere fraternity at Michigan State University lost its charter in 2017 and its chapter's house corp and alumni relations team failed to maintain communications with its stakeholders for over a period of years following its suspension, resulting in considerable disappointment and frustration.
A comprehensive organizational review was conducted to discover how problematic their having gone silent was and what steps were needed to regain the trust and confidence of all its stakeholders. This review was shared with select stakeholders only.
It was imperative that a communications campaign be launched to create high-quality touch points with all key shareholders. This included a mix of in-person, over-the-phone, newsletters, and social media. Additionally, it was important to recognize and engage the chapter's most notable brothers to tap into their sphere of influence and gain their endorsement. Special events and collaborative projects were created to reconnect, reengage, and generate chapter excitement.

Building off initial strong interest and engagement rates, work included the development of a new website. It is considered second only in size to its national headquarters.. It achieved a record level of engagement measured by number of pages visited and time spent per visit.
